HartiSWIM x Cooper & Co. Bring #SipSeaChange back for 2026

HartiSWIM x Cooper & Co. Bring #SipSeaChange back for 2026

Following the huge success of its inaugural campaign, HartiSWIM and Cooper & Co. reunite for year two - with new Harti artwork, a new cup, original music, animation and an even bigger mission to get people talking about our oceans.

JERSEY, CHANNEL ISLANDS - SEPTEMBER 2026: Turns out, one summer of trying to save the ocean over a flat white simply wasn’t enough.

Following the success of #SipSeaChange 2025, sustainable wearable-art brand HartiSWIM and Jersey coffee institution Cooper & Co. are back for round two.

New year. New art. New cup. Same ocean. Bigger conversation.

The premise remains brilliantly simple: take something thousands of us hold in our hands every morning - the humble coffee cup, cover it in original art and use it to start a conversation about the ocean.

Because no, we’re not pretending a coffee cup is going to save the planet. But changing a habit, starting a conversation and getting people to think about the choices they make every day? That we can do.

FROM COFFEE CUP TO CONVERSATION

Conceived by HartiSWIM and delivered in partnership with Cooper & Co., #SipSeaChange was created to turn an everyday ritual into a platform for environmental storytelling.

At its heart is HartiSWIM’s 8-Point Ocean Action Manifesto - simple, achievable actions that encourage us all to be a little kinder to the blue: from beach cleans and refusing unnecessary single-use plastics to choosing reef-safe products, travelling more consciously and, importantly, educating the next generation.

The inaugural campaign saw original artworks by Harti - the late artist and HartiSWIM co-founder Sascha “Harti” Hartmann, wrapped around Cooper & Co. coffee cups across Jersey, putting art, sustainability and conversation quite literally into people’s hands.

The campaign also introduced a loyalty initiative: complete four Harti x Cooper & Co. loyalty cards and receive a reusable plant-based cup free - an incentive designed not simply to talk about disposable culture, but to help change it.

The wider creative work of HartiSWIM was recognised when the brand became a finalist for Best Use of Social Media at the Drapers Awards 2025.

And so, after the response to year one, there was really only one thing to do.

Do it again.

SAME OCEAN. NEW STORY.

For 2026, #SipSeaChange returns with new Harti artwork, a new cup and a much bigger storytelling universe.

This year HartiSWIM is taking its conservation message beyond the coffee cup, bringing together original art, fashion, music, film, animation and storytelling.

Because environmental messaging doesn’t always have to be frightening, worthy or - dare we say it - beige.

Sometimes you need to tell the story differently.

TURN IT UP. THE OCEAN HAS SOMETHING TO SAY.

Music has become an important part of the HartiSWIM world, with the brand creating two original music videos designed specifically around ocean storytelling.

The first, Don’t Kill the Ocean, doesn't exactly tiptoe around the subject. It is a provocative musical call to action - using film, lyrics and music to confront what is happening beneath the blue and remind us that protecting it is a collective responsibility.

The second, Free The Blue, takes the message somewhere particularly important: the next generation.

Part music video, part animated story and part love letter to the sea, Free The Blue uses colourful animation and the character Tals to introduce younger audiences to the magic of our oceans, and why looking after them matters.

The original track, performed by H Collective featuring Tallia Storm, is also available to stream on Spotify, taking HartiSWIM’s ocean message far beyond the runway or coffee shop.

Both films are available to watch online and will form part of the #SipSeaChange digital campaign.

It is all part of the same creative philosophy: art becomes fashion, fashion becomes film, film becomes music - and each becomes another way of telling the story of the ocean.

Because not everyone reads an environmental manifesto.

Some people need to see it. Some need to wear it. And some just need to turn it up.

HARTI - THE ARTIST. THE LEGACY.

The return of #SipSeaChange has a particularly poignant significance for HartiSWIM in 2026.

Sascha “Harti” Hartmann passed away unexpectedly in June 2026, just weeks after the brand’s acclaimed Barbados After Dark runway presentation at Miami Swim Week The Shows.

Harti was a contemporary artist and cultural provocateur whose bold acrylic works combined Pop Art with fearless social commentary. His paintings were never simply decorative; they were intended to question, confront and make people think.

The new #SipSeaChange artwork comes from some of Harti’s final works, original hand-painted pieces inspired by the extraordinary colours, energy and beauty of the Caribbean Sea.

Continuing #SipSeaChange is therefore about more than bringing back a successful campaign.

It is part of HartiSWIM’s commitment to continue the creative and environmental legacy Harti began - through his paintings, his music, his ideas and his deep love of the ocean.

The artist may be gone. The art keeps talking. When you live on an island, the ocean isn’t background scenery. For an island community like Jersey, ocean conservation feels personal.

The sea surrounds us. We swim in it, sail across it, walk beside it, work around it, photograph it - and occasionally complain bitterly about its temperature.

But being this close to the water also means understanding why protecting it matters. That shared philosophy is what makes the partnership between HartiSWIM and Cooper & Co. work.

Both are Jersey businesses that believe sustainability shouldn’t simply sit in a corporate statement somewhere. It has to translate into things people can actually do.

Pick up rubbish on your beach walk. Reuse your coffee cup. Choose ocean-safe products. Refuse something you don’t need. Talk to your children about marine life.

None of it sounds revolutionary. But that’s rather the point. We can’t change the world on our own. But we can all do our bit.

One person changes a habit. Another joins a beach clean. Someone talks to their children. A business changes the way it operates. A customer chooses to reuse rather than throw away. Small actions. Repeated often enough. By enough people. That’s how a ripple becomes a wave.

Tessa Hartmann CBE, founder & Creative Director of HartiSWIM, says:

“After the response to the first #SipSeaChange, there was really only one question: how could we not do it again?

“We live on an island. The ocean is part of our everyday lives and our responsibility towards it doesn’t disappear when a campaign finishes. Our job is never finished.

“We’re also realistic. HartiSWIM and Coopers aren't going to change the world on our own. But we can use our platforms, our creativity and our businesses to keep the conversation going and encourage people to make those small changes that collectively matter.

“Coopers shares exactly the same ethos. There’s no preaching and no pretending we’re perfect. It’s about constantly asking, what can we do better? Together, I think we’re quite a force.

“This year we also wanted to push the storytelling further. We have the art on the cup, but we now have music, film and animation. And with Free The Blue, we’re talking directly to children because if we want to change our relationship with the ocean, surely the next generation has to be part of that conversation.

“And, of course, this year is deeply personal. We’re continuing the campaign through Harti’s art and his extraordinary love of the ocean. His artwork is still making people stop, look and hopefully think - only now, sometimes, it’s wrapped around their morning coffee.

“I think he’d rather like that.”

David Warr, owner of Cooper & co., says:

“Bringing #SipSeaChange back for a second year was an easy decision. As a Jersey business, the ocean is quite literally all around us, and we all have a responsibility to do our bit to protect it.

“What I love about this campaign is that it doesn’t lecture people - it engages them. HartiSWIM brings the art, creativity and storytelling, while we bring something that’s already part of thousands of people’s daily lives: coffee.

“We know one cup won’t change the world. But if it makes someone stop, think, reuse, recycle or simply start a conversation, then it’s doing something worthwhile. Same island. Same ocean. New cup. New conversation.”

Throughout the 2026 campaign, customers and the wider community will once again be encouraged to share their own eco-actions on Instagram - whether that means reusing a cup, recycling, joining a beach clean or simply making one better choice.

By tagging @hartiswim and @coopersjersey, participants can enter the monthly prize draw for the chance to win a HartiSWIM suit worth £220, alongside weekly coffee giveaways at Cooper & Co.

Complete four Harti x Cooper & Co. loyalty cards and customers can also claim a reusable cup absolutely free.

Because sustainability doesn’t have to begin with completely changing your life. Sometimes it can start with changing one tiny habit. Preferably before your second coffee.

New art. New cup. New music. New stories.
Same ocean. Same responsibility.
