Launched in 2022 by Scottish-born fashion entrepreneur and branding powerhouse Tessa Hartmann CBE, currently President of the British School of Fashion and Head of the Fashion Advisory Board at Glasgow Caledonian University, HartiSWIM is a wearable manifesto. Its message? Artful sustainability, fierce femininity, and unapologetic self-expression.

Now anchored on the dramatic shores of Jersey, the brand draws deep creative inspiration from Hartmann’s husband and muse, Harti - a polymath artist, composer, and former psychotherapist whose vivid pop art has graced the walls of the Saatchi Gallery and travelled from Seoul to Venice. Together, the duo dreamed up a bold new vision: to bring Harti’s electric, large-scale canvases to life on swimwear that doesn’t just wear well, but means something.

And wear it does - with intention and impact.

At the core of every HartiSWIM design is a fusion of art and innovation. Each swimsuit is made using REPREVE®, a world-leading performance fibre crafted from 100% recycled materials - primarily plastic bottles collected from oceans and landfills. To date, over 35 billion bottles have been transformed into REPREVE® yarns globally. Known for its durability, shape retention, and moisture-wicking properties, REPREVE® allows HartiSWIM to deliver sculptural, high-performance swimwear without compromising the planet.

Every suit reclaims approximately 13.1 plastic bottles, turning ocean waste into wearable art. It’s a glamorous protest against pollution - one that’s as functional as it is fabulous.

Their Miami Swim Week The Shows debut was less runway, more revolution: a multi-sensory spectacle fusing fashion, original music scores by Harti himself, and a fierce undercurrent of marine consciousness. Think immersive performance meets eco-manifesto. Think rebellion with sequins.
